Administration

Users logged in to MI:Viewer with administrative privileges can carry out a number of tasks from the Admin link in the MI:Viewer toolbar.  This link will be visible only if you are logged in using either:

• an account with GRANTA MI Administrator privileges (that is, an account that is a member of the Admin system security group); in this case, all of the functionality outlined below will be available to you.
• an account with Database Administrator privileges (that is, an account that is a member of the Admin database security group, where Database security has been configured; in this case, you will be able to update (fetch) database home page files, generate bookmark URLs, view object identities and unit conversions, and lock the databases for which you are an Administrator.

General tab

• Load home page files — load new or updated profile and database home page files.
• Load language resource files — load new or updated language resource files.
• View security and access control information —  view security and access control information for each database.
• Generate bookmark URLs — build bookmark URLs ('Switchboard links') that can be used to open MI:Viewer in a pre-configured state.
• View object identities — view information about database objects that can be used when creating links on home pages.
• Unit conversions — view the unit conversion equations used in each database.
• Picture data options — enable and disable the MI:Viewer crosshairs control, and also configure the appearance of the crosshairs (orthogonal or isometric).
• Workflow options — enable integration of an MI:Workflow application, allowing MI:Viewer users to perform workflow action on records.
• Custom Reports — enable access to analysis reports in MI:Viewer
• Notifications options — enable and disable the Notifications feature; prevent users from seeing the Settings>Notifications tab.

Databases tab

• View database status — view the name, key, and status of all available databases, and lock databases so they cannot be edited.

FEA Exporters tab

• View FEA Exporters — view troubleshooting information for FEA exporters.

Patches/DLL tab

• View system information — view information about software patches and DLLs.

Process tab

• View process information — view information about the current ASP.NET process.

Logging tab

• Logging options — select the application logging level
• Download log files — download MI:Viewer and  MI:Server log files; also on this tab, you can download the GRANTA MI Application Activity summary
