View database status

Information about the databases in your MI system can be viewed by users with administrator privileges for the GRANTA MI system from the Admin link in the toolbar. As well as viewing database information, you can also lock databases here, preventing them from being edited by non-administrative users.

In the MI:Viewer toolbar, click on Admin.
Click on the Databases tab.

For each database listed, the following information is shown. Click Set (at the bottom of the list) to apply any changes.

Locked?	Indicates whether the database is currently locked. A locked database cannot be accessed or modified by non-administrative users. To lock/unlock a database, select the check box.
Key	The database key (dbkey)
Name	The database name
Latest Revision	The database revision ID. This allows you to see easily which version of a database is currently loaded.
Last Modified (UTC)	The last time the database was modified or updated. This can be useful for identifying latest versions of databases under development, and test databases. The time shown here is in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) format.
Read-only?	Indicates whether the data in the database can be edited.
Status	The current status of the database, one of: OK – The database is configured and cached successfully. Failed to load – The database is configured but failed to cache. Unloading – The database is currently being removed. Unloaded – The database is not configured/has been removed. Must Upgrade – The schema version of the database is older than that expected by the software. Wrong Schema – The schema version of the database is newer than that expected by the software. Reload Required – The database must be reloaded in the GRANTA MI system, for example, because the text cache is out of date after the database was restored on SQL Server by a SQL Server DBA. Right-click the list entry and click Reload on the shortcut menu.
Details	Information about any errors encountered on loading the database. This column will normally be empty.
