MI:Viewer allows you to search for data in a number of different ways. Search results are displayed in a list on the Search Results page, with a summary in the Search tab in the MI:Viewer navigation pane (on the left of the window).
Note that:
You can perform a simple text search of the database by entering keywords (including wildcard characters) into the text search box in MI:Viewer's toolbar or in your profile home page, if this has been configured. This will search for a word or phrase across all tables in the currently-selected database or profile.
On the Advanced search page, you can define search criteria to tailor your search results to properties and specific tables.
You can also specify filters based on record type, date, and/or version.
You can save searches (search criteria and parameter values) and run them again at any time, to save you time on searches you run frequently.
Your GRANTA MI database administrator may have configured pre-defined searches that allow all users to quickly search for commonly-used materials that are of particular interest to your company or department, for example, to search only polymers, or to search properties measured to ISO standards.
You can search for substitutes for a reference record based on selected attributes of that record. The substitution results are presented in a clear, ranked list, based on their "nearness" to the reference material, making it quick and easy to identify the likeliest substitutes.
Substitute is a separately-licensed feature which may not be available in your system.
