Watching records and data

You can monitor records and data of interest in the current database by adding them to a watch list. When any of your watched items changes, notifications will be generated which you can view on the Notifications tab in MI:Viewer Settings; see Notifications.

Note  If your MI administrator has turned the Notifications feature off, you will be unable to add items to a watch list or view notifications.

You can add tables, folders, records, and data to a watch list.

Adding items to your watch list

You can add a record to your watch list from the Contents tree, from search results, or from a datasheet. You can add record data (attributes) to the watch list from the record datasheet.

To add a record, folder, or table to the watch list

To add a data item to the watch list

  1. Display the datasheet for the record of interest.
  2. On the Tools menu, select Watch Data.
  3. Locate and select one or more attributes.
  4. Once all desired attributes have been selected, click Continue.
  5. To see the selections you made, view the Watch list (Settings > Watch List).

Click Settings and then click on the Watch List tab to view the items currently on your Watch List.

To remove an item from the Watch List, click on the red cross next to its name.
