Editing access control permissions
Access control settings—Read and Write permissions for folders and records,
and the attributes in them can be edited by users with sufficient privileges.

You need at least grant privileges for the database in order to modify
access control settings in MI:Viewer.
- If database security groups have been set up, this means that you
must be a member of the Grant, Power User, or Admin database security
group.
- If database security groups have not been set up, you must be a
member of the Grant, Power User, or Admin system security group.
To edit the access control
settings for a record, generic record, or folder
- Locate the item in the Contents tree and click
Edit on the item
menu button .
- Under Edit, click Edit access control.
- Edit the access control settings as desired.
- Select the required read and write permissions.
- Select or deselect Apply access
control settings to record's data.
- Click Apply Changes Only
or Apply All Settings
to apply only these changes or all settings respectively.
- (Optional) On the Notes tab, enter some notes about the operation.
- Click Finish.
